I’ve got something to say!

In a couple of hours, I’m going to go see Amy Sedaris – she of Strangers With Candy, craft books, and tumbling. BFF to Sarah Jessica Parker, longtime pal to Stephen Colbert and sister of David Sedaris, Amy Sedaris is one of the most oddly talented people living today.

I have no idea what sort of show she is going to put on. I’ve heard that it’s to promote her book on hospitality, and she does little craft demonstrations. But honestly, I don’t know.

I am psyched.

And if she does do craft presentations, I hope it’s for these – word on the street is, she was behind this Colbert Report segment.

I’ll let you all know how it turns out.

Video of the day (Of the week? Of the Year?) What I already consider a Classic TV Clip – if you look closely, you can see them crying.

  1. I’m not going to lie, I did cry when I watched Stewart announce Obama as the President Elect. And it makes me tear up to watch it again, particularly when I see Stephen Colbert wiping the tears from his eyes. I can’t believe I am this moved by a presidential election, Sarah. But I am. I am incredibly moved.

  2. I hope you had a good time! I was lucky enough to go to one of her appearances back when her book first came out in 2006 and she was awesome. She signed my book and when I told her what my last name was, she laughed really hard and said “that’s awesome!”
So yeah, Amy Sedaris made fun of my name. I was awed!
I don’t remember if I’ve asked you this but have you read Wigfield? If you haven’t go straight to the bookstore and get it. Such a funny book. The audiobook is great too.

  3. Heather, you are not alone. I got kinda teary. Then I watched it again before I deleted it from my DVR, and there were more tears.

Nicki – I had a good time, but it wasn’t what I expected. It was a Q&A session, which would have been cool, except the interviewer SUCKED BALLS. So Amy did the best she could, but it ended up being kinda awkward.

I haven’t read Wigfield, but my friend got me a copy and had Amy sign it – it’s my Christmas present. I’ll let you know what I think after Christmas.
